Tips When Choosing Bay Window Coverings

The first step in choosing bay window coverings will be to determine the size of your window. There are varieties in shapes and sizes of bay windows so you will have to choose which style curtains would look best. Also, you need to determine if you would like blinds or shades. If you are comfortable with the blinds or shades that you have and would like some decorative curtain options then you have already won half of the decorating battle. When measuring bay windows, you will need to take special consideration into effect. The type of curtain rod you are going to use will also effect your measurement options. You may decide to go with a standard rod or a double traverse rod. It is best to check with the instructions of the manufacturer of the curtain rod to make sure that you get an accurate reading. Cornices are often highly favored as a bay window covering. A cornice is like a valance only it is made out of either wood or a fabric covered form.
